Seek My face

Well today is another great devotion from Jesus Calling by Sarah Young:

SEEK MY FACE at the beginning of your day.  This practice enables you to "put Me on" and "wear Me" throughout the day.  Most people put on clothes soon after arising from bed.  Similarly, the sooner you "put Me on: by communicating with Me, the better prepared you are for whatever comes your way.

To "wear Me" is essentially to have My mind: to think My thoughts. Ask the Holy Spirit to control your thinking: be transformed by this renewal within you.  Thus you are well equipped to face whatever people and situations I bring your way.  Clothing your mind in Me is your best preparation for each day.  This discipline brings Joy and Peace to you and those around you.

My heart has heard you say, "Come and talk with me." And my heart responds, "Lord, I am coming."
Psalm 27:8

Instead clothe yourself with presence or the Lord Jesus Christ. And don't let yourself think of ways to indulge your evil desires.
Romans 13:14

Since God chose you to be the holy people he loves, you must clothe yourself with tenderhearted mercy, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience.
Colossians 3:12

This is a reminder of how we get in the grind of our routine doing the 'normal' things like taking a shower, brushing teeth, and getting dressed...sometimes we think, "Oh, I'll just talk to you after I get ready..." Then we find our self on with our day and sometimes don't even communicate. I need to continually work on this and building my relationship so I can relish the Joy and Peace he promises us through this discipline. Have a blessed day.

You are too much!

I just wanted to share this devotion that I read yesterday out of Jesus Calling by Sarah Young:

THE WORLD IS TOO MUCH WITH YOU,
My child.  Your mind leaps form problem to problem to problem, tangling your thoughts in anxious knots.  When you think like that, you leave Me out of your world-view and your mind becomes darkened.  Though I yearn to help, I will not violate your freedom.  I stand silently in the background of your mind, waiting for you to remember that I am with you.

When you turn your problems to My Presence, your load is immediately lighter.  Circumstances may not have changed, but we carry your burdens together.  your compulsion to "fix" everything gives way to deep, satisfying connection with Me.  Together we can handle whatever this day brings.

Don't be afraid, for I am with you.
Don't be discouraged, For I am your God.
I will strengthen you and help you.
I will hold you up with my victorious right hand.
Isaiah 41:10

For the Lord your God is living among you.
He is a mighty savior.
He will take delight in you with gladness.
With His love, He will calm all your fears.
He will rejoice over you with joyful songs.
Zephaniah 3:17

The righteous person faces many troubles,
but the Lord comes to the rescue each time.
Psalm 34:19

Wow! When I read this, I thought how true it is that I let my mind wonder all over the place wondering (aka: worrying) what will happen next, what will I do then, how will this work out....ON AND ON...

What RELIEF it is to know that when I choose to turn to His Presence He's there waiting with open arms to take on the day together.

Thank you Jesus!

Paper towels...

This morning I went to the gym for a little boot camp.  Keeping in mind that I had a full day ahead of me I decided to take clothes/makeup so I could shower and be fresh.  Well, I worked out, then went to the locker rooms to shower.  As I placed my bag down it instantly dawned on me that I forgot a towel (they don't provide them at our gym, which is usually no big deal).  Well, I decided that I really needed to shower, so I went and grabbed a stack of paper towels...yep, I did...showered, wiped off with a couple, air dried a couple minutes, wiped with a couple more...I really have no reason in sharing this story with you other than I find it kinda funny that this is the kinda crap that happens daily...I hope you can get a laugh out of it, I kinda did :)

Kids are mean!

Last Friday was field day at Faith's school.  She was able to have a "free dress" day.  She wore shorts and one of her school shirts.  Anyways, I thought she looked beautiful--as always...Much to my surprise she came home from school today and was changing in to school clothes and said, "Mommy, on Friday when I was getting off the bus I heard this 5th grader saying I shouldn't be wearing these shorts because my legs are too skinny." (of course I hear and think...if someone told me that it would be like and angle from heaven lol...) but anyways, Faith is all upset about it.  I said, "Your legs are beautiful! You are perfect just the way you are! Plus...what do you want...big 'ol legs like mama??"  She laughed and grabbed my legs, smiled, and walked off...I guess that satisfied her :)

Still don't like kids talk'n 'bout my baby like that though!!

My beautiful girl!

There are no conincidences...

I find it no coincidence that God revealed this message to me today.  Today I read Habakkuk.  Habakkuk was a man who wanted answers.  He wanted to know why the World was evil and why evil people 'seemed' to keep winning.  Now get this--he (Habakkuk) boldly and confidently took his complaints directly to God! One may say, really, he complained to God?? Yep! And guess what....GOD ANSWERED!  Many times to us, it does seem as though the wicked are winning.  Most recent comparison--Osama Bin Laden.  He did unthinkable things and went unpunished for so long...but God answered!  Eventually the wicked WILL be judged, and righteousness will prevail.  AMEN!  Judgment may not come quickly (10+ years for Osama's judgement) but it will come!

You can take your concerns to God, He will listen.  You should listen to God's answers and rejoice that He is at work in the World and in your life.

Many Americans have spent the last several years crying out to God just as Habakkuk did:

How long, O Lord, must I call for help?
But you do not listen!
"Violence is everywhere!" I cry,
but you do not come to save.
Must I forever see these evil deeds?
Why must I watch all this misery?
Wherever I look,
I see destruction and violence.
I am surrounded by people
who love to argue and fight.
The law has become paralyzed,
and there is not justice in the courts.
The wicked far outnumber the righteous,
so that justice has become perverted.
Habakkuk 1:1-4

I mean seriously...While I was reading this this morning I was like, really???? Holy cow!!! It's ALL so true!  Then the Lord replies:

"Look around at the nations;
look and be amazed!"
For I am doing something in your own day,
something you wouldn't believe
even if someone told you about it.
Habakkuk 1:5

Habakkuk complained a second time:

But you are pure and cannot stand the sight of evil.
Habakkuk 1: 13

Sometimes when we don't get immediate answers from God we often times become discouraged or angry.  I am sure many of us have been angry that Osama killed many and was never found, but Jesus says:

"Write my answer plainly on tablets...
This vision is for the future time.
It describes the end, and it will be fulfilled.
If it seems slow in coming, wait patiently,
for it will surely take place
It will not be delayed.
Habakkuk 2:2-3

Again, we need to remember God is in control and hates sin even more than we do. Punishment for sin WILL come!  We need to trust God even when we don't understand why events occur as they do.

There will be times as Christians that we will live through difficult times and see no signs of hope, but it is then that we must trust by faith not by sight.

As the Scripture say, "It is through faith that a righteous person has life."
Romans 1:17 and Galatians 3:11

Pray in faith that judgement will come in due time.  It never seems to be our timing, but our Lord has perfect timing.  We need to realize that God is doing right, even when we don't understand why he works as he does.  Evil will not be victorious forever! God is in control; we must patiently wait for him to act.

God will give His followers strength and confidence in difficult times, and at the right time He will rid the World of evil.  While we wait we need to stand firm, have faith that God will give us the confidence we need to get through it.

Moses answered the people, “Do not be afraid. Stand firm and watch the Lord rescue you today.  The Lord himself will fight for you.  Just stay calm.
Exodus 14:13-14

What reassurance! He will fight for me! He loves me so much that he will fight for me.  When you make an emergency phone call the operator will say, "stay calm" and many people listen because they hear their voice and know help is on the way.  As Christians, we must do the same thing, stay calm and KNOW help IS on the way!

We may not be able to see what God is doing and we may not see what all he will do, but we can be assured he will do what is right.

I hope you have been blessed by this message.  Don't be scared! Know our God is bigger and knows all things.  Help is on the way...We can NOT simply live each day in fear of what will happen (I'm not saying don't be cautious or not to care) I'm just saying be prayerful.  Our God is mighty and has a bigger and better plan than us!

*Continue to pray for our Country as many fear what's next...live in faith!

My God IS in control! In Jesus name, Amen!
Be blessed!

Arabia Shrine Circus

Thursday, April 28, 2011 we took the kids to the Arabia Shrine Circus at the Fort Bend County Fair Grounds.  We took the kids last year and they had a ball so we had to go again.  This year we took Faith's friend from soccer, Carina, our neighbor Nikki, and Scott and Riley. (We missed Michelle) :( It was fun and full of entertainment.  The highlights were the bears riding motorcycles, elephants dancing, riding the elephants, popcorn, nachos, cotton candy, and a keepsake...whew, it was a late night...I think our kids are still recovering from lack of sleep and sugar-high, but it was SO worth it!

Carina and Faith getting ready for the show

Riley very excited

They loved the clown (eeekk...mama's not fan, but that's ok) lol

Will found security's four-wheeler and had to have a picture

LOL! I love my Faify poo!! These glasses were awesome and if I could have seen clearly through them I would have SO bought them for running in the dark :)

Soccer-April 30th

Faith and Will are doing amazing this season in soccer.  Faith had two games on Saturday and made the first goal during the first game.  We were all SO excited for her!!  Will made three or four goals this game (lost track).  They both are some quick little monkeys and have plenty of endurance.

Nana and Pa came to watch their games and the kids loved it. Each time the rotated and were able to come off the field, they were up in Nana or Pa's arms. We really enjoyed them being in town for the day!

Faith enjoys defender and goaly, but she's awesome as a forward! She has serious speed!

Such a precious picture!
